With over 15 years of experience in employment law in both state and federal courts nationwide, Mr. Payne has built a career representing clients in complex matters, including class and collective actions involving the FLSA, ERISA, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, and state and federal whistleblower statutes. Mr. Payne has gained experience in litigation, advice, and leadership, not only through private practice, but also from his time serving as in-house counsel for residential solar companies operating across multiple states. In those roles, he managed employment and consumer litigation, negotiated commercial contracts, and ensured regulatory compliance. Before entering the legal field, Mr. Payne was a high school teacher and coach, and earlier worked in print journalism—experiences that shaped his communication style, strategic thinking, and dedication to advocacy.
